Cardano is getting a huge boost in the race to outduel Ethereum as the world’s leading smart contract platform. The project, invented by founder and the head of IOHK, Charles Hoskinson, is about to formally grow roots with the United Nations. Add to that the fact that an Australian developer wants to integrate Cardano tokens onto Shopify through his own independent work and that SingularityNet, the artificial intelligence company behind the robot Sophia, also wants to use Cardano and things are looking up for IOHK.

News of all three happenings will surely increase Cardano’s market capitalization in the long run while providing the project with more opportunities to show off its programmability and scalability to the masses.

Cardano’s Partnership with the United Nations

According to a tweet from the IOHK, the United Nations will use Cardano’s Project Catalyst platform to vote on proposals and objectives related to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals in coordination with the organization’s 75th anniversary celebrations.

Project Catalyst is an experimental treasury system that brings together proposal and voting systems in a decentralized format in order to foster a democratic culture within the Cardano ecosystem. It’s a perfect fit for the United Nations too.

Why an Australian Developer Is Bringing Cardano to Shopify

Jeronimo Backes describes himself as an independent developer from Australia that believes out of all the blockchains trying to solve scalability problems, Cardano is the closest doing it at an enterprise-level. Backes figures that since the code is open source, he can integrate Cardano’s ADA token as a payment solution on the Shopify platform without relying on a third-party provider.

Shopify already accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and Dash as payment, but all of those currencies get pushed through third-party companies. With a market capitalization of over $171 billion, Shopify is one of the richest companies in Canada and growing exponentially.

SingularityNet Is Choosing Cardano Too

Dr. Ben Goertzel is the CEO of SingularityNet and the inventor of Sophia, an artificial intelligence robot. He wants Cardano to be the fiat-to-crypto on-ramp for end users of SingularityNet so that they don’t have to deal with complicated crypto infrastructure. Like Backes, Goertzel too believes that Cardano is further ahead in the race to scale in comparison to Ethereum.

Is Cardano Going To Be The Ethereum Killer?

At this point it’s too early to tell whether or not Cardano is shaping up to overthrow Ethereum as the world’s most valuable altcoin. But the project is certainly making waves and garnering the support of some key stakeholders in the industry.

Do you want to purchase Cardano? Netcoins has you covered with lots of different cryptocurrencies!

As Cardano advances, so will its competitors. That can only be good for the industry as a whole.
